Thank you for all those comments. Now I’m happy to introduce you to our new puppy, Jiggy. I might later on give him some funny names, I called my boys many different names too that we only use at home. I don’t know where I got them, just out of  nothing, I make up all these funny names. My boys warned me not to use them at school or else they’ll get teased. So, I’m careful with that LOL. We got him this morning, he is a shy little fellow but he loves to play. My boys did not play video games after doing their homework. They just can’t wait to play with the new puppy. Here’s our little Jiggy, our new family member:

We’re so excited! Tomorrow is the big day, we’ll finally get our Jiggy. We’ve planned this for a long time, we’re  getting a puppy. So we finished shopping for the things that he will need when he gets here. Same thing as when you’re a first time mother and you’re getting ready to take your baby home. We’re getting a pug. I’ll be posting some photos as soon as our little Jiggy gets to his new home. I’m excited, guys! I’ll write more stuff about him. He’s my boys’ early Christmas present. And here comes my 4th boy… hubby, 2 boys and a male puppy. We have a full house this Christmas.

I’ve seen some blogs who talk about themselves in a list way. And honestly, when I see an interesting blog the first thing I’d like to look at is the ABOUT ME  page. Oh well, I guess you are just as curious as I am. Okay, let’s lay down the cards and  here are some 20 facts about me, this not in order:

1. I can’t live with long fingernails. I’m an Artist and long nails is a no-no for me (self-explanatory)

2. I’m scared of dolls (also self-explanatory)

3. I was born on Friday the 13th (always a lucky day for me)

4. You won’t see me wearing any red clothes (I would never dare wear red)

5. Cloudy days make me sad

6. My favorite actor is Leonardo DiCaprio (I told my husband he looks like him but he insists he’s better looking)

7. I hate cell phones ( I almost got into a collision with a driver who was texting and ran a red light while I have the green light)

8. I strongly believe in the GOLDEN RULE.

9. I easily cry when I watch movies (either on tv or theaters)

10. I never learned how to ride a bike (and please don’t tell me it’s not too late to learn, I would rather sky dive)

11. I hate tailgaters.

12. And what comes next is, I hate people driving too slow in front of me and when I go to the next lane and try to get in front of them, they will drive faster and won’t let you.

13. I can go to the same restaurant and eat the same food every time I go without getting tired of it.

14. I cringe when I see women wearing clothes that are 3x smaller than their size.

15. Same thing when I see them wearing low waist pants that you can see their panties when sitting down (can they keep it to themselves?) Sorry, just an opinion… I mean no harm.

16. I can’t bear seeing kids walking to school as young as 5 years old (where are the parents, don’t they know the dangers?)

17. I don’t mind helping my neighbor watch their dogs when they’re out on vacation. But doing it more than 3x is too much.

18. I like instrumental music like jazz and oldies.

19. I would like to learn French someday.

20. Two things I’d like to do before I die: sky dive and learn how to play the piano.

One evening I heard my two boys (both in grade school) listening to their favorite Phineas and Ferb song, S.I.M.P. I was watching them while they tried to match the song with a few dance steps here and there. My dancing feet just kept tapping on the floor with the beat and rhythm of the music. Until I could not hold it any more and I went to the middle of the living room and just did the same dance steps that I used to do in the dance floor a few years back (don’t ask, after seeing the video on the bottom, you’ll know exactly when it was). Still with the same song, I wriggled here, and there… stepped from left, then right, tap, tap, step back, sway. At the same time the head and shoulder movements were doing the pop locking dance style. Oh, how I enjoyed it! I was feeling the dance unmindful of my two sons watching me. They just watched their mommy danced away. They never saw me dance this way before. My husband never dance, not his thing. But I grew up dancing, my parents used to dance tango and cha-cha, boogie, name it they can dance it. Then us kids, we watch them dance in our living room and we joined them with the dance. So I learned all the dance steps at a very young age. In college, I was with the school dance group and we performed at the school theater. There’s never a time that I never tapped my foot whenever I hear a really good beat such as S.I.M.P.

When the music stopped, my older son played it again and I looked at him and I asked him to join me but he was to embarrassed to show me his dance steps. So my new assignment now is to have them learn the basics, following the rhythm of the music and dancing with the beat. Any basic moves will be okay, sway left, sway right, tap, tap and dance. Here’s a sample of the dance steps that we used to do back then, minus the break dance part, of course:

First, I’d like to thank those who read my earlier post and thank you also for those who commented. I finally got over it and it’s working, things are going back to their original form and I see colors again. My special thanks to Luisa, a new friend who opened up a new world of fun with her blog.

I would honestly say I have been battling depression since I was a teen-ager. It wasn’t easy, and I did not trust so much people back then to even confide to anyone of them, not even to my family. We were a close-knit family but it’s the embarrassment of telling them the truth that stopped me from even mentioning about what was going on. So I wrote all my frustrations and thoughts on my journal and I took long walks, as far as 7-8 miles. During my teens I remember my mom being to worried about me for not eating. I did not know then that it was anorexia. Not until I read a story from a women’s magazine about a famous actress who was battling bulimia and anorexia nervosa. To begin with, it all started with jokes being thrown at me during high school, then the teasing went on. What I don’t understand is that they find me fat when I was only 115 lbs. then. Well, you know most Asian women are shorter than 5′5″ and I am 5′3″. But the constant teasing made me consider myself on the chunky side. Afterwards, I concentrated on working out, jumping rope, running, walking and so forth. I dropped almost 20 pounds and of course, everyone noticed it. My mom was too worried that I needed some psychiatric guidance. My Dad (he was a doctor, he passed away 17 years ago) knew it but I was trying to cover up whenever he asks. There was a time I remember, I would eat just a banana and a glass of water, that’s it for the rest of the day. So here I was at a bookstore and suddenly everything went dark, I almost passed out. The saleslady asked me if I was alright and I asked her to call home. My brother picked me up and I had a lot of explaining to do at home. I had a long talk with my parents… I did not get treated to a rehab for that but they watched me eat, my mom made sure that I ate on time and with the right food she prepared for me. It was summer time so I was at home most of the time. No excuses, just got to do it.

That was a long time ago. The good news is, after having 2 kids I’m down to 110 lbs. And that’s something I’m proud of. It’s really nice to look back to the past and see all these things happened like a whirlwind. I am so thankful to God, that He placed me where I am now. The depression comes back once in a while but I’ve learned how to handle it during the course of all those years. Thank goodness, I’m here and I survived.

In the first place I should not have trusted this person. I couldn’t vent it out somewhere else but here. I’m not sure if anyone reading this could relate to my situation. So, here’s a friend, you thought the whole time a shoulder you can cry on. You told this individual all your fears, your aspirations, your mistakes and all the things you wish you could change in your life. And he/she would make you feel that you’re doing great, everything will be fine. So in return I tried to help this person and gave what I could give. Then, I just found out that the entire world knew about my life story, all my well-kept secrets (don’t we all have this?). And my so called friend turned her/his back from me. Dropped me like a hot potato with no one to turn to. I am so upset, so disappointed. Like what I said, so defeated. And it’s true, it’s all my mistake for trusting too much. I’ve been deeply hurt and how I wished I never trusted. Well that’s a lesson learned, you make a mistake and find out the hard way. I know time will heal, it’s not the end of the world, there’s always a shining hope. I just need to air this out. The damage was already done and there’s nothing I can do about it. Thank you for bearing with me, for reading my rants. I should be okay, I’ll be fine.

I noticed that there are so many people who seem to find it too hard to accept their mistakes. But for me, I would rather admit that I was wrong rather than continue feeling the same guilt as I go on. I would like to let go all the guilt feelings, and that is why choosing to admit my wrong is better than not admitting it at all. I even say to myself, “Oh that was so dumb, I should not have done that.” You might have a different reason than mine, or maybe your point of view is not similar to mine but I think accepting your own mistake is the best assurance that people are not perfect, we all make mistakes and it’s okay to admit the truth, that you also make mistakes. I can’t hide all the time knowing that my conscience will bother me the whole time. So, admit and get it over.

Yeah, it’s been a while… I almost forgot that I have a blog. It’s funny to think that we go on with our lives and deal with whatever is going on, then suddenly you stop and think that time have passed by and I never smelled the flowers on the side of the road. I need to unwind, so I’m back here again. My birthday this month, and what’s so special about it is that it’s just the same ordinary day. Do you even celebrate your birthday? I look at it this way, birthdays are like Christmases. When I was a child, I would wonder and get so excited about my birthday. I think of gifts my parents would have for me, or the ones from my friends. Not anymore though, as you get older what was ideal back then is not as special anymore. I don’t know what’s your view on this. I have been into a lot of struggle lately. Not financially but something more personal. I’m trying to console myself after a terrible situation, I accepted my mistakes and put a brave face to what troubles me. It’s so hard when you get depressed and there’s just nobody to talk to. So here I am. I just pray I can get over it. I keep asking myself why is it when you trust so much, people do take advantage of you? All I did was trust somebody. And boy, I found out later how wrong was I, how stupid I was. Then comes the blame, I blame myself for trusting too much. I thought I was doing something good for others but I came into realization that I was being used. With my trust broken I don’t think I will ever, ever trust somebody again. Now I’m going back to bed, I’m not sure if I can even sleep. But I’ll try… for now.

I was putting together a poster for a client and he wanted something creepy and gory. But I don’t actually want to put together a vampire savagely devouring the victim, or should I say, prey. Here is the unfinished work which I think there’s too much blood in the image. I decided to remove the blood drippings from the mouth. The client loved it.

The artwork below is another bloody image. I have not done any work that has anything involving or showing violence and bloodshed. But to change the course a little bit, I created this to see how far can I go with the layouts I make. Supposedly, this is an aftermath of a woman who might become the victim but ended up defending herself. The would-be assailant did not realize she was trained for instances like this. The moral lesson came too late for the crook.

Why would you care less if you are in the middle of raging waters with just an old gnarled tree to cling on? This is the new fantasy wallpaper that I’ve created today. I enjoyed the water splashes (for the mermaid) so much that I need to make another wallpaper layout. It’s the weekend, you know and this is the time when I relax and be care free with all the week’s work. I hand painted the tree digitally with Photoshop and Painter IX. It was fun painting it but I strained my eyes somehow. The textures turned out good, I’m happy with it. It’s only two days a week that you get to do certain things that you love to do. It’s been a while since I posted anything related to art. I’m just excited about the new stuff  I’m up to nowadays. Just sad to hear about Michael Jackson’s death. It was a comeback that never happened, sad, really sad. Anyway, what I have here are some 3D images that resembles two female movie stars and a famous model, I’m not sure if you can guess who they are but I will include a few clues on each of them.

She appeared on a tv series as one that possesses superhuman power of rapid cellular regeneration. She is the next spokesperson for Candie’s. Check out the close up image below.

The next image (below) is an actress who appeared in “Zathura.” Although she made a lot of movies, her movie falling in love with a vampire boosted her career the most. I love that movie, I have read the books as well.

Have you guessed yet? Don’t give up now. The last one on the bottom is a Brazilian model. She’s well known for her pouty lips. She got married early this year and now entering motherhood.

I have always thought I should just keep this to myself. But I still have the biggest question in my mind as to why is it that after his death, the media, the people, some fans are suddenly gathering together and putting him back to pieces again… he is already dead. Why did they not showed support when he was down and out or when he was in trouble? They chastised the guy, mocked him and the media always made fun of his bizarre ways (which I think his ways to get public attention). He was a big celebrity during his time but when all the troubles started (okay, we all knew about these child molestation charges and the court hearings, etc.) and after he was acquitted, he vanished from the limelight. Well, I heard he went to Bahrain and bought a villa there, settled for a few short years. And it all died down.

Also, I remember going to Vegas and visited Madame Tussaud’s museum sometime in December of 2003, I have not seen his wax figure any where there. Sad to say, it was removed because of the allegations involving sex charges against him.
Now they have the wax figure back and displayed it in the front window. For what, to attract passersby and for commercial purposes. This is sad, really sad. And of course, the media is feasting over his death, the story coverage are selling like hot pancakes. Whether he died of drug overdose like Elvis or of a heart ailment we never knew, the media frenzy has to stop. His family, his loved ones need time to reflect. They needed time alone for themselves after losing a son, a brother and the father of his children.

Michael Jackson is gone, let his soul rest in peace. Hopefully after the autopsy and the funeral, they should let him find the peace he always wanted. Fame and money is not worth everything, you’ll only find peace when you meet the Creator, when your time on earth is over. He entertained the world, the public once owned him… but we need to let him rest in peace to a place where we all are destined to go someday.

This really came as a shock to hear that the King of Pop is dead. I was at work and my Mom  who now lives in California called me and said, “Do you know who just died?” I knew that this morning Farrah Fawcett died around 9:30. She died of colon cancer, that’s what I knew. She’s been battling cancer for a long time. And I answered, “Yes, I knew that Farrah died this morning.” “No, your favorite died,” Mom said. “My favorite who?” And I was shocked and saddened it was Michael Jackson who just died after a cardiac arrest. I immediately looked at the news online and found out of his sudden death. That was really sad news, we really never heard that he was so sick because he just signed up for a live tour in Europe. Back in the 80’s we danced with his music, I literally grew up with his songs. I have a collection of his CDs throughout the years, a true Michael Jackson fan since grade school. “One Day in Your Life” was one of my favorite songs and I still sing it in the shower until these days. And who can forget “Thriller” and the most-famous “moonwalk?”

Hard to believe it, but he is gone… Michael Jackson, in spite of his huge success and popularity all over the globe, he died a lonely, unhappy  man. He made bad choices in life that destroyed his career but his music will stay for a long, long time.

That was a big disappointment that she just came second during the finals. What many people said they did not vote for her because they thought that she was already the sure winner of Britain’s Got Talent. I don’t think her recent public meltdown have really affected her that much. But the lady was definitely under pressure. With her singing talent widely known all over the world, a promising future awaits her, a record deal, a movie, her biography books, and a possibility to become a stage star ( Andrew Lloyd Webber, the award-winning composer and producer of more than a dozen musicals including The Phantom of the Opera and Cats, is an admirer of Susan Boyle’s talent). Well, good luck Susan, you have a great future waiting for you.

I’m sure you have heard of her, I’ve seen her first performance from youtube and I cried like most of the people who have seen her sing. This is her second performance at the show Britain’s Got Talent, although she missed the second note she finished the song beautifully with her powerful vocals. She is just a frumpy, ordinary-looking woman that you would see in grocery stores but when she starts singing she can captivate a million audience. And then, we come to realize that she is just like every one else and yet everybody loves her, her singing talent is truly exceptional. I can’t wait to see her sing through the finals, I’d like to see her win.
